Krzysztof Dresler
Krzysztof Dresler contributes over 15 years of experience in banking and capital market. Krzysztof is the Partner of Metropolitan Capital Solutions. He is also Secretary of Supervisor Board of PZU S.A. (large insurance company with state equity), where he sits in Strategy Committee and participates in Audit Committee.
Krzysztof served over a decade in the banking sector. In 2008-2011, he was Vice President of Management Board of PKO BP, in charge of Risk and Collection, and additionally for investment banking. Krzysztof was one of two Management Board members approved by Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). During his tenure, the bank restructured fundamentals of the credit process, the payment collection system, deposit and FX policies, and treasury operations. As Chairman of Asset and Liabilities Committee and Central Credit Committee, Krzysztof played a prominent role in those processes. On top of that, he was in charge of arranging and supervising the stock capital raise of 2009 and actively arranged new financing from the wholesale market and during quarterly presentations of financial results. During his term, Krzysztof chaired Supervisory Boards of PKO Investment Fund and Wilanow Investment. He also chaired Supervisory Board of Kredobank, the biggest Polish direct investment in Ukraine undergoing fundamental restructuring. Krzysztof also chaired the Board of the Polish Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. In 2012, He was recognized with "Order of Merit in Banking for the Republic of Poland" awarded by the President of the National Bank of Poland.
In previous years, Krzysztof supervised assets and liabilities operations - as the managing director at Pekao SA, as well as the areas of strategy, planning, controlling, HR policy, compensation policy, cost policy and tax issues - as CFO/Reporting Officer at Xelion Doradcy Finansowi (Unicredit Group). Krzysztof led Market Risk, Planning, and Controlling for PKO BP, where he supported company IPO in 2004. In 1996-2001, he worked for Polish National Depositary of Securities (KDPW) on the risk management system for new derivative entries on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. On top of that, in 1998-2006, Krzysztof held a university post at Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) as the expert on monetary and currency policy and financial market globalization.
Throughout his professional career, Krzysztof attended countless seminars and conferences. Among others, Krzysztof did an internship at Depository Trust Company (New York), finished many investment advisor courses, Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) course and CFO studies. Krzysztof is a member of Global Association of Risk Professionals, Professional Risk Management International Association, Board of Capital Market Leaders Academy (Lesław Paga Foundation of 2065), and Board of EFPA Poland Foundation for Financial Advisory Standards. Krzysztof was a member of Minister Michał Boni's team preparing national report "Young People 2011".
Krzysztof is fluent in English and German, and speaks Russian. He graduated with Master's in finance and banking from Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). Krzysztof completed many courses, among them MBA-based "Management for Business Leadership" program designed by University of New Brunswick.
Krzysztof is married and has two daughters Nina and Gaja. In his free time, Krzysztof runs long-distance city races. Krzysztof is interested in sociology, philosophy and transformations of the society and the civilization.
