Wojtek Stankiewicz

Wojtek Stankiewicz has close to 20 years of experience in strategy and growth, restructuring and profit improvement, as well as corporate finance and M&A, acquired while working for McKinsey & Company, Metropolitan and as an entrepreneur.

Joining McKinsey back in 1993, after a one year stint with an American market-research firm, he has co-led the establishment and subsequently growth of the Polish office of McKinsey and has become the first locally hired Polish partner and the second most senior partner in the office. Over the years Wojtek has served a broad spectrum of clients - multinationals, mid-size enterprises and public sector institutions alike - spanning a wide set of industries. He has, in particular, spent substantial time in telecom, banking, consumer goods, retail and transportation advising clients on a wide set of items on their management agenda including growth strategy and new business creation, restructuring and cost reduction, organization and corporate governance, sales performance and new product introduction, to mention but the most prominent ones. He has also led Warsaw's Corporate Finance practice and has been directly leading two major privatizations over the last years.

Wojtek has for several years been in charge of recruiting and all people-related functions in Warsaw and has also led McKinsey's pro bono activities in Poland. His advisory work has taken him across the whole CEE region, with a particular focus on Ukraine. He has also spent more than a year working in the US and has been one of the partners spearheading McKinsey's foray into the Middle East, in particular in Saudi Arabia.

Wojtek has cofounded Metropolitan in 2009 and has been leading Metropolitan's activities primarily in the consumer goods, retail and telecommunications sector - both in the transaction and consulting space.

He has in parallel been active in principal investments and asset management. Based on a successful track record of real estate investments, he has set up a small real-estate fund allowing wealthy investors to acquire agricultural real estate subsequently transformed into housing land. He has also backed several entrepreneurial projects as active investor.

Wojtek has an MA from the Warsaw School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD, both with distinction. He is fluent in English and German and has a working knowledge of French and Spanish. He is married and has two sons. Wojtek is an avid traveler with a particular interest in international relations.
